The Wrocław-Lviv Programme |
In 2001, Polish and Ukrainian partnership cities – Wrocław and Lviv – signed officially a cooperation agreement. That was how the Wrocław-Lviv Programme came into being. Since March 2002, the Krzyżowa Foundation has been coordinating the Wrocław-Lviv Programme. The programme is supported financially by the Municipality of Wrocław.
Aims of the programme:
- Establishing cooperation and developing contacts between Wrocław and Lviv non-governmental organisations, institutions and schools;
- Supporting the transformations in the Ukraine by using Polish experience, simultaneously fulfilling our obligations to our Western partners, who supported the transformations in Poland;
- Creating a good atmosphere for developing contacts between representatives of the local administration, culture and art, local leaders, youth organisations, schools;
- Promoting individual contacts between the inhabitants of the two cities;
- Supporting democracy and European aspirations in the Ukraine;
