How will Gardener’s House (Environmental Education Center) match the challenges of sustainable development and what does it mean?

The concept of sustainable development is a very broad and it combines economic, environmental and social issues. In our Environmental Education Center, we will have the ideal base for a practical understanding of eco-development from the perspective of the average person. Do we know how many liters of water we use every day? Do we know how many energy we use when our computer is on? We can only speculate, estimate the results. While living at Gardener’s House - thanks to the modern solutions and measuring equipment - we will obtain information about our use of energy, water and heat. Everyone will be able to analyze his/her habits and think about whether they are environmentally friendly and – let’s not lie to ourselves - if sometimes our reckless use of energy or water is harmful for our finance.

How will the structure of Gardener’s House look like?

Gardener’s House will have two floors- one ecological, equipped with the latest technology and other with standard equipment. In order to continuously complement our knowledge, the Center will lead workshops on ecological issues. This will enable people to get to know the form of correcting their behavior in the area of ​​ecology. They will also know the solutions that are favorable not only for the environment.

Who will have the chance to use the most modern technologies in the Centre?

Environmental Education Center is an educational project so all the people interested in ecological issues can use it. Classes will be prepared for a specific age group, from children attending primary schools up to the adults. Gardener's House will also be available for disabled people.

How are renovation works progressing?

All repair works at the House of the Gardener run according to the plan, and now, when there are severe frosts we have had to slow down a little bit. But the weather conditions were taken into account already in the planning phase of the project and for sure the work will be finished in time.
