“Eradication is the most dangerous sickness of human society”- this is one of the exhibition’s keynotes which reflects the theme of “eradicating” confronted with “rooting”. Simone Weil, author of impressive slogans from 30’and 40’ and many essays, treaties, reports , was a philosopher and writer, who was helping political refugees from Germany and France in the times of national socialism. Through thoughts and words, she presented a picture of the fatherland and human values, which are still visible in society. Presentation of her sentence, enriched and accented with black and white photographs of artists such as Ansel Adams and Josef Sudek, was divided into three stages. The topic of "uprooting", in addition to Simone Weil's thought, reveals the characters of the Nazis, teachers, unemployed, soldiers and bloody events of the Prague, Vietnam and Beirut. Famous figures such as the Scholl siblings, Adolf Reichwein and Albert Einstein, still life and live nature were assigned to the second part of the exhibition which shows the theme of “eradicating”. Third part of the exhibition brings visitors closer to the “Needs of human soul”- landscapes from all around the world. Organizer of the project: Peace Library of Antiwar Museum of Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg, „Krzyżowa” Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe. |
