Order, punctuality, spontaneity or maybe frankfurters and potatoes? With what German artists associate Poles and how our celebrities see the Western neighborus? Krzyżowa invited you in Oktober 2011 to an exhibition of photographs and interviews "Haribo jellies and Mercedes" / "Gummibärchen und Mercedes" by Jutta Missbach.
Jerzy Stuhr, Steffen Möller, Marek Kondrat, Julia Jentsch and Andrzej Stasiuk in black-and-white photographs in Nuremberg are just some of the Polish and German heroes of the photography exhibition by Jutta Missbach, who presents her works in different German, Polish and French towns since the year 1997. The exhibition, apart from photos, shows six questions and six different answers of actors, musicians, artists and mayors about their attitude to German and Polish neighbors, their customs and habits. What is your favorite city in Germany and why? What is, in your opinion, better in Poland than in Germany, and what in Germany than in Poland? With what associate you Poland and with what Germany? Dorota Masłowska focuses on Haribo and sausage, Steffen Möller emphasizes the lack of humor and beer and Andrzej Stasiuk would really like to send Poland in the space. Motorways, tap water, World War II, the Alps, Leipzig, vodka, dancing, bread, talkativeness, theater and Mercedes- these are just some of the interesting and sometimes astonishing answers of the exhibition’s heroes. Organizer of the project: Cracow House and Jutta Missbach. |
