Jolanta Iwanio

Jolanta Iwanio – Alumna of the University of Świdnica, subject area: pre-school education. And the Universityy of Oppeln, subject area: elementary school education and additional studies on special education. She is a teacher for integrative education in the Elementary School No. 8 in Świdnica. In Krzyżowa she realized art therapeutical workshops for people with disabilities in summerof 2010.

I met “problematic children” many times throughout my life and always wantet to help them. I am interested in art therapy, which is linked with my work as well as my private concerns. Workshops of art therapy seemed to be a challenge to me – and i had never thought that they might work out so well! I started the project with certain concerns for i dont speak german and had to get over the language barrier because many participants wher talking only in german. With the help of translators i didn´t have any problems though.
The workshops were very creative. Mood, toleration and acceptance between the participants were just fantastic – it really enchant me. With great pleasure i witnessed how they worked with huge commitment and enthusiasm in their workshops and played with art at the same time. This was a beautiful experince for me. And even though i returned home exhausted, i was very happy.

What are your future plans in Krzyżowa?

I want to continue cooperation in various projects with different people whose creativity and fantasy gets animated. This kind of work is familiar to me and i enjoy creative tasks, especially in the fields of art, music and literature. Krzyżowa is a perfect place for that. Here, people with and without handicaps grow together and show, that everything is possible.
