Due to the spreading epidemic of coronavirus, the seminar "Remembrance, Understanding, Future" planned on May 17-23, 2020 was postponed to the second half of the year and recruitment was temporarily suspended.

Within the next months we will inform you about the new date of the project.

The Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe invites students and volunteers from Poland and Germany interested in topics of reconciliation, Polish-German relations and the culture of remembrance to the fourth edition of the seminar "Remembrance, Understanding, Future".

The project is organized by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the German Embassy in Warsaw and the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe in cooperation with the Regional Representation of the European Commission in Wrocław. The seminar will take place in Krzyżowa and Wrocław from 17 to 23 May 2019.

The event will be attended by students, volunteers and NGO employees from Poland, Germany and the Western Balkans. The aim of the seminar is to reflect on the process of Polish-German reconciliation, which can be an inspiration for other nations trying to find understanding despite the difficult past.

What is it about?

The project “#weneedtotalk Barcamp: Education in a digitalized world!” addresses multipliers from the field of non-formal education, from German-Polish relations, and from the civic tech sector.

The aim of the project is joint discussion and getting to know digital tools for the field of historical-political education. This project aims for a successful knowledge transfer and gaining experience on the topic of digital methods in historical-political education.

Together participants will explore questions like: What new paths can historical-political education go in the German-Polish context? How can digitalisation help us to make this field even more innovative and inclusive?

Everybody can get involved, present ideas, and benefit from the knowledge of others. The focus is on getting to know each other, network and learn from others.

Creating Space: A Digital Future with Ethics in Mind

Training for multipliers* of formal and non-formal educational work

8-13 December 2019

Krzyżowa, Poland

The idea

Hate-Speech threatens democracy and current developments on the Internet show that political education and media literacy can no longer be separated. We believe that there is a clear need for action to expand media skills to include digital media ethics competence because current information and education addressing media are no longer enough for taking responsible action in the digital society.
